The Government of Rwanda and several development partners are supporting the PURE sector and the country is seen as a ‘sandbox’ for innovation, including in pioneering off-grid and PURE technologies.

This study provides an overview of the productive use of renewable energy (PURE) market in Rwanda and provides recommendations to support its growth. The research was conducted between February and April 2023 and included interviews with 30 stakeholders across the PURE ecosystem, two focus group discussions and an extensive literature review.
